On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the regular monthly BOS meeting, it was announced that three citizens (who wish to remain anonymous) filed a formal complaint against Board Chair Lori Smith, Vice Chair Nick Mitchell, and County Administrator Steve Sandy, alleging multiple violations, including restricting public access to meetings, conflicts of interest, and operating outside the authority granted to their respective roles.
