FCCC
SECRETARY
Most of the Secretary’s work is behind the scenes – recording and distributing meeting minutes and agendas, maintaining an updated contact list of members, and managing the website. At times, the secretary may be called upon to act as face to the organization.
Meet Tammie
Currently serving as FCCC’s Secretary and Webmaster, Tammie was born and raised in Central New York and graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1984 with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting. For thirty years, she juggled motherhood, a full-time career with the US Postal Service, and ran the business end of a lucrative investment property venture she and her husband operated. In addition, she volunteered a good portion of her time to a local non-profit organization, serving on several committees, as alternate treasurer, treasurer, alternate chair, and chair.
With retirement looming, Tammie and her husband purchased their first property near Smith Mountain Lake in 2016, working diligently during vacations and long weekends to bring the distressed home back to life.
In 2021, they realized their dream and moved to Franklin County permanently. After a few years of relaxation, she decided that being too idle was not conducive to staying healthy and chose to return to work part-time as a property inspector for insurance companies and mortgage lenders.
She’s not afraid of a challenge and is always up for learning something new – her latest challenge being this website she taught herself to build.
In her spare time, Tammie enjoys gardening, home preservation, sewing, crafting, DIY projects, and, of course, boating on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.
