SUMMIT VIEW
BUSINESS PARK
Summit View Business Park is located along the 220 South Corridor in Franklin County, VA, between Roanoke and Rocky Mount. It is a 550-acre publicly owned development designed to create high-paying jobs. Launched around 2016, this next-generation business park is built on former farmland.
It was developed with the intent to blend economic growth and community wellness.
It includes industrial, commercial, and recreational areas, and currently houses three tenants: Valley Star Credit Union, Traditional Medicinals, and Stik-Pak Solutions.
In 2016, Franklin County began buying parcels of farmland to develop the site, and in October 2017, it officially broke ground on the 9.7 million Phase I construction.
In 2020, the site welcomed its first tenants. Around the same time, the county secured a $4.7 million federal grant for road infrastructure to improve access to U.S. 220, along with $1 million in grant funding from the Tobacco Commission for site improvements.
Recent investigations into the County’s Comprehensive Plan and FOIA documents relating to the proposed zoning ordinance uncovered the marketing of SVBP as a possible location for a Data Center and other Big Tech Companies.
RETECMO Defense Services contacted the county in April 2025 about the possibility of locating a Drone Veriport at Summit View. It is unknown whether the county is entertaining this endeavor as there has been no public engagement or announcement to date.
