After Mr. Mitchell’s abrupt resignation on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the BoS is now scrambling to fill the position.  

They have 45 days to select and install a new supervisor.

The preliminary timeline was set at the August 20th work session and is as follows:

• Notice to accept applications will be posted on the FC website no later than August 24.
• Deadline to apply is Wednesday, September 2.
• A special BoS meeting is set for Thursday, September 3, at 3pm to publicly announce applicants, after which the board will enter a closed session to review and discuss applications.
• Interviews will be conducted on September 9 & 10 and on Friday, September 11 at 10am the board will vote in an open session to select an interim supervisor.
• This appointment will run through 2027, with a public election for a new supervisor taking place in November of 2027.
