Board of
Supervisors
And Planning Commission Joint Work Session
Wednesday, May 13, 2026
Several FCCC Members were in attendance.
It began with a presentation by The Berkley Group, highlighting some “suggested changes” based on the survey feedback. It was minimal at best. At the end of the slide presentation The Berkley Group wanted to proceed with “Next Steps”. The BOS Chair shut them down in lieu of discussion first.
Overall, the takeaway from the discussion was positive. Most of the Planning Commissioners and all of the Board members spoke, with very few positive remarks. Mr. Sandy was asked if he had anything to say, but he declined.
No official vote could be taken as it was not a public forum; the consensus from both the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors is that The Berkley Group needs to be placed on pause, as their work has been substandard, with little communication and a sense of urgency to meet the projected timeline.
The Planning Commission is requesting time to rework a zoning ordinance that is more appropriately tailored to Franklin County.
On Thursday morning, May 14, Supervisor Dan Quinn posted the following on his Facebook page, which clearly summarizes what transpired.

One resident in attendance caught a nice video clip that expresses how it seems most everyone feels about this rewrite.
