Chickens

Current zoning lists chickens/poultry as permitted use only in the A-1 Zone.  

New draft allows backyard chickens, limited to 6 per acre and no roosters in the RE and R1 zones.  It also prohibits the sale of eggs or meat in the RE and R1 zones.

Beekeeping

There currently no regulations on Beekeeping in any zones.  New Ordinance places substantial regulations on zones, number and positioning of hives, setbacks, flyways, and sales of equipment and honey.

Backyard Gardens

Current zoning allows backyard private gardens in all zones. 

Draft ordinance, by definition in Article 10, limits them to A1, A2, RE, and R1.

Sales of produce via Farm Stands are limited to Ag zones only.
